Aero-News: Quote of the Day
ANN's Quote of the Day usually derives from current news,
though we reserve the right to pick quotes out of history that have
a bearing on the day's events and issues.
Sometimes, you'll find them timely and in keeping with the
content of the day's news... and sometimes, they'll just be
thought-provoking.
Reader suggestions and comments are welcome... and if
particularly intriguing, timely, or poignant, may themselves
become future Quotes of the Day.
Let us hear from you, folks!
Aero-News Quote of the Day
"NAFI feels it is important to continue discussions that
may lead to more effective and professional flight training
efforts... We want to help make sure that if any changes are
made, they are to enhance safety and professional ability of flight
instructors, while at the same time not place unnecessary burdens
on instructors for keeping their certificates active or eliminate
the ability of senior and more experienced instructors to share
their knowledge with new pilots."
Source: NAFI Executive Director Jason
Blair, in comments related to NAFI's announced plans to attend
a public meeting hosted by the FAA concerning "Updating the Flight
instructor Renewal Process to Enhance Safety of Flight" on December
6-7, 2010, in Washington, D.C. The meeting is the result of the
FAA's indication that it has "been reviewing indicators that
suggest that the process currently in place (by which flight
instructors renew their certificates) may lack sufficient
effectiveness in ensuring that CFIs are being provided the best
information in the most useful manner."
