An event designed to celebrate the world's air traffic controllers is being planned for early October of this year.

As patron of ATC Week, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Airports; President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority; Chairman and CEO of Emirates Group, Chairman of Dubai Air Navigation Services said: "We welcome the launch of ATC Week in the UAE as the latest initiative to facilitate progress in the continuously growing and evolving aviation industry. We look forward to welcoming aviation professionals from the UAE, the region and the world over to participate in a weeklong series of face-to-face events and discussions shaping the future direction of safe and efficient air transport."

"ATC Week has been designed to highlight the importance of air traffic control and the contribution it makes to the global transport infrastructure," said Paula Milburn, Development Director - Aviation, UBM EMEA, which is organizing the event. "We welcome the international air traffic management community to take part and benefit from this unique opportunity to network and share best practice with international counterparts."
