Airborne-Flight Training 11.10.22: L3Harris Academy, APS Upset Mtg, Mesa Velis

L3Harris Technologies launched a pair of new ATPL programs aimed at those training towards their UKCAA, EASA or Dual Pilot license – the Integrated ATPL and the Flying Start ATPL.

The Integrated ATPL packages L3Harris’ Airline Academy’s commercial pilot training with accommodation throughout the United States-based flight training phase, based out of Florida. The program grants access to its graduate placement pool, with additional packages available for new trainees during the UK-based ground school and advanced training phases. Aviation Performance Solutions (APS), educational specialist in Upset Prevention & Recovery Training, will host the annual 2022 UPRT Safety Summit for Professional Pilots Worldwide on November 16th. This year’s theme will be “Transforming Low Experience to High Aviation Safety”, featuring a number of presentations from industry experts. A Pipistrel Velis Club, one of the fleet apparently destined for flight training operations with Mesa Airlines and owned by same, has gone down in Cross City, Florida, after suffering 'engine issues' while approaching the airport. The aircraft used an airframe parachute to affect a safe 'landing' despite the nearly motor-glider properties of the airframe. The aircraft impacted in a field, suffering extensive damage...
