Boeing Business Jets Sees Raft of Activity

New Deals Inked for BBJ 737 MAX, 787 Dreamliner, and 777X

Boeing's smaller-scale, private jet operation has seen more sales activity than usual, announcing 4 orders for some of its most high-end aircraft.

The 4 unnamed (of course) customers ordered outside the more affordable end of the Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) catalog, where most tend to stay. Only 2 opted for their own private 737 MAX, while the others went for the much larger, more capable 787-8 and 777X. While Boeing's offerings are far and away bigger and longer-legged than the vast majority of competing top-of-the-line bizjets, a private 777 is still something to behold.

The company took a moment to publicize its success at the 2023 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition in Geneva, Switzerland. When everyone's eyes are on the bizjet industry, it's always good to get some eyes on your product - and how many competitors there can boast more than 11,000 nautical miles of range like the 777X?

"With the right combination of comfort, performance and best-in-class operating economics, the BBJ family offers VIP customers all the features they are looking for in a business jet," said Joe Benson, BBJ president. "Designed on the platforms of Boeing's best-selling commercial airframes, customers recognize the value in operating the most reliable and capable jets in world."

Boeing's offerings are a fun piece to window shop, with each building on the ubiquitous Boeing lineup with a reimagining as a private, deluxe private jet. The 737 MAX offers 6,600 nm of range, along with pretty generous floor plans and a worldwide network of support that will never leave it grounded for long. The 787-8 takes it up a notch with even more range, up to 9,945 nautical miles. The -8 model sports a few added benefits with the larger fuselage, like improved environmental performance, a lower cabin altitude, increased cabin air humidity and advanced smooth ride technology to counter the effects of turbulence.

The top dog, however, is the BBJ777X, built on the 777-9. The model is "the first business jet capable of connecting any two cities in the world nonstop, flying up to 11,025 nautical miles". The triple-seven has all the same amenities as its siblings, with even more performance and reliability. Boeing Business Jets take note that the 777X is aimed at flying more than 4,000 hours every year - a good pick for operators focused on uptime and comfort above all else.
