EASA Certifies MT-Propeller MTV-6 For DA42 Aircraft

Installation Requires No Engine Modifications

EASA has granted an STC to MT-Propellers for the installation of its MTV-6 3-blade prop on Diamond DA42 airplanes.

According to a company news release, the STC covers installation of the new scimitar design 3-blade hydraulically actuated constant speed propeller MTV-6-( )-C-F/190-69( ) on Diamond DA-42 aircraft powered by two Technify Motors GmbH TAE 125-01, TAE 125-02-99, TAE 125-02-114 or Austro Engine GmbH 4E-B.

The company says the installation requires no engine modifications. Ground roll & takeoff distance over 50 ft obstacle is reduced by about 131 ft, and climb performance is improved by 10%. Pilots should see a 2-3 knot improvement in cruise speed with the new propeller.

The MT-Propeller natural composite blades have no life limitation and are repairable in case of foreign object damage.

The company says the high performance, lightweight and durable MT-Propellers can be used on aircraft with piston engines and propeller turbines, as well as on airships, wind tunnels and hovercraft. MT-Propellers can be developed for nearly every aircraft type from motor gliders to regional airliners.
