Quest Aircraft’s Kodiak is making its first appearance at
EAA’s AirVenture and will be on display for the duration of
the show in the Quest Aircraft booth, # S-14 (just inside the main
gate).
The Kodiak, which has logged close to 200 hours toward FAA
certification, made its first public appearance in May at the
Alaska State Aviation Trade Show, where the company began accepting
customer deposits. To-date, Quest has 12 customer deposits for the
airplane. Base price for the Kodiak is $1,111,000.
“We’ve had a lot of interest in the Kodiak,
especially since our public debut in Alaska,” stated Paul
Schaller, President and CEO. “We’re excited to bring
the airplane to Oshkosh and showcase its unique capabilities to a
worldwide audience.”
The Kodiak’s rugged aluminum construction combines
superior STOL performance and high useful load. It offers proven
turbine reliability with the Pratt & Whitney PT6 turbine
engine, and has the ability to land on unimproved surfaces. The
creative wing design allows the Kodiak to take off in under 700
feet at full gross takeoff weight of 6750 lbs with a useful load of
3450 lbs and climb at over 1700 feet per minute. The robust landing
gear allows the Kodiak to easily handle unimproved airstrips, and
it is designed for floats and amphibs.
Quest Aircraft, LLC is the manufacturer of the Kodiak, a
10-place single engine turboprop utility airplane, designed to be
float capable. Headquartered in Sandpoint, Idaho, Quest was
established in 2001, and currently employs more than 50 skilled
personnel. The company recently completed a 57,000 square foot
expansion to its facility that will house the Kodiak production
line.
