GAMA Publishes 3Q Delivery Figures

Overall Market up 2.5%, with Turboprops Strongest Gainer at 14.6% Growth Over 2022

GAMA's 3rd quarter 2023 sales & billing report has been published with things looking more or less okay across the GA realm.

The General Aviation Manufacturers Association releases numbers for the general industry to show the overall health of things, of particular note heading into the holiday season amid a nearly imperceptible fall from the post-pandemic highs of 2021. Results show that the first 9 months of the year saw "increased aircraft deliveries across all segments" in addition to "an increase in the overall value of the aircraft shipments." Piston aircraft were up 11.9% with 1,135 aircraft, bizjets an anemic 2% with 455 aircraft delivered, and turboprops the strongest with 14.6% to the tune of 439 planes. Overall, 3Q 2023 saw $14.5 billion delivered, 2.5% up over 2022.

“General aviation is the planet’s aerospace technology incubator that drives safety and sustainability benefits to our transportation systems and economies,” said Pete Bunce, GAMA President and CEO. "We are laser focused on safety, technology and sustainability initiatives to maintain and expand our industry’s steadfast growth into the future. To achieve this, it is imperative that there is stability within our industry’s regulatory bodies and having a new permanent leader at the top of the FAA is a great start. It is also essential that Congress act now to pass an FAA reauthorization bill that provides the new Administrator and agency with the necessary direction and tools to strengthen and enhance the aviation system."
