Business, Light Jets Popular Even in Strange World Economy
Embraer released its 3rd quarter delivery results for this year, having fulfilled 30 jets in total. Surprisingly, only 9 of them were commercial jets, with the other 21 split between the company’s executive jets. Selling 2 of their Phenom 500 and 5 of their 600’s, Embraer delivered an impressive 14 Phenom 300 aircraft.
The Phenom 300E continued its streak of popularity again this year, still the best-selling light jet for nearly 10 years. Their 1500th business jet was delivered to a Swiss customer, with more to come, if this year’s BACE is indicative of customer enthusiasm. The company is proud of its orders, noting the outstanding value of their book stands north of $16.8 billion.
Quarter 3 has been a busy time for Embraer as the economy returns to 2019-era normalcy, seeing multiple contracts signed with returning airline customers. SkyWest, Inc. bought another 16 new E175 jets, adding to their current fleet of 71 they operate under a Capacity Purchase Agreement with the Delta Air Lines network. This sales contract, included in the backlog total, is worth $798.4 million alone.
Embraer signed additional service contracts, including aftermarket support, Pool Program Agreements, and materials support with a few long time customers. Porter Airlines signed for an aftermarket package for their fleet of E2 aircraft, good for up to 20 years. CommutAir, a United Express carrier, will receive support for their ERJ 145 fleet, as well as join Embraers pool program. Foreign customers have expressed interest in the same, and inroads have been made, such as a deal with Australian outfit Cobham. Embraer will extend their pool agreement and support the company’s 3 E190’s.
