9900BX Standard Factory Option
By ANN Correspondent Rose Dorcey
The Lancair Company has selected the Ryan International 9900BX
Traffic Advisory System (TAS) as a standard factory option on its
Columbia models, which include the 350 and 400.
The Ryan 9900BX TAS warns of a potential collision by
calculating range, bearing, and altitude of intruder aircraft
relative to the host aircraft. The system is designed with top and
bottom patented directional antennas, providing a complete and
accurate protection shields over twenty miles. The patented antenna
system assures optimal reception with minimal interference from the
host aircraft's own airframe. The 9900BX TAS is engineered with
Ryan exclusive Audible Position Alert (APA) that annunciates an
alert when a traffic threat is detected: "Traffic! One o'clock
high! Two Miles!"
"We are so pleased to announce such
a superior traffic avoidance system for our state of the art line
of aircraft", says Mark Cahill, Lancair's Vice President of Sales
and Marketing. "Its active and rapid detection capability is the
best match for the Columbia's speeds, adding this capability makes
the Lancair driver that much more at ease."
"Ryan is a company dedicated to safety and we are privileged to
provide critical traffic information on Lancair's certified
aircraft", says Bruce Bunevich, Vice President of Sales and
Marketing. Bunevich said to expect, "an extremely competitive
price" on the Lancair option.
Ryan International Corporation is a global provider of collision
avoidance systems for civil and government aviation markets. The
9900BX Traffic Advisory System (TAS) and Multi-Hazard Display (MHD)
are a continuation of a long, rich history of high performance
avionics developed by Ryan International.
