TrueNorth Stylus Handset Now Shipping

Distribution Through Launch Partner Flying Colours

TrueNorth Avionics today announced at the NBAA Conference and Exhibit that its TrueNorth Stylus Handset is now shipping, and ready for purchase and immediate delivery. Peterborough, Canada-based Flying Colours Corp. is the first of the company’s partners to install the new Stylus handset on a range of Asian- and North American-based aircraft.

“Since its debut at NBAA in 2011, demand for the TrueNorth Stylus Handset has grown,” said TrueNorth CEO, Mark van Berkel. “We are the only company to offer aircraft operators and owners truly customizable handsets that will enhance any cabin interior. The Stylus is beautiful, and also built to last. It can be configured to operate in any language, and offers high definition voice, for face-to-face quality calls while in flight. Working with Flying Colours Corp. in their mission to deliver the highest quality communications available is gratifying; their customers are savvy and demand the very best.”

A number of TrueNorth’s international partners have also selected the Simphone Open Cabin system with Stylus handsets, for installation on larger VVIP aircraft such as Boeing 747-8s and Airbus A330s.

“The TrueNorth Stylus is the only truly customizable handset that we’ve seen for the aviation marketplace,” said Flying Colours President and CEO John Gillespie. “Our customers have exacting requirements with a need to stay connected throughout their day, whether they are in their office or in their business aircraft. A number of aircraft operators have indicated to us that high quality voice and the ability to tailor a Satcom system to their needs are paramount considerations when making the decision purchase and install.”
