Airwolf Walker Air-Oil Separator Certificated for Cirrus SR22

STC Opens Up Large Market

Airwolf Filter Corp has been awarded a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from the FAA for its air-oil separator for installation on the Cirrus SR-22 piston engine aircraft. With over 2000 Cirrus aircraft already flying, Airwolf expects a strong market acceptance from this quarter.

The Cirrus air-sep kit is beginning to ship now, and the company is ramping up production to meet anticipated demand. The Walker Air-Sep, now manufactured by Airwolf, acts both to distil and re-circulate crankcase oil vapor generated by normal operation, and also to remove corrosive water vapor from the crankcase, for longer engine life and integrity.

"Our Air-Sep keeps oil vapor from venting overboard in flight with the added benefit of cleaner belly skins," said Airwolf's John Kochy. "The significant reduction in oil consumption, and removing harmful water vapor are very useful byproducts of the process."

The company's air-oil separators are STC approved on a wide variety of aircraft.

"No other air-oil separators are either effective, or approved for as many aircraft as ours," Kochy added. "The more you look into the differences, the easier it is to understand our dominant market position, and why we are capable of certification on aircraft such as Cirrus."
