Mass Arrival Of Cessna 150/152 Aircraft At AirVenture

Formation Included 2 Australian Members

By Robbie Culver

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Cessna 150, 21 aircraft arrived in formation on Friday as part of the International Cessna 150-152 clubs mass arrival into Airventure 2009. The aircraft operated under a special arrangement and letter of agreement with the FAA Oshkosh ATCT Lake hub.

After marshaling at the Watertown, WI airport, the aircraft departed Runway 23 in an in-trail formation for the trip to Ripon, and followed the Fisk arrival into Airventure. 2 Australian club members joined the arrival, making it a truly international event. Matthew gray of Syndey, Australia, joined the group for his second trip to Oshkosh in a borrowed Cessna Cardinal.

Cessna aircraft corporation met the arrivals and provided gift bags that included a gold 50-year medallion and a commemorative patch. The arrivals tied down in the North 40, and celebrated the event with a group dinner Friday evening.
