Layoffs Confirmed At Eclipse Aerospace Plant

Company Mum On Number Of Employees Idled

An undisclosed number of workers at the Eclipse Aerospace Plant in Albuquerque, NM have been idled by the company with no date set for their return.

The plant manufactures the Eclipse 550 light jet.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that the layoffs came almost two years after Eclipse merged with Kestrel Aviation to form One Aviation Corp under the direction of Alan Klapmeier. The Eclipse 550 is the core of One Aviation's business, but other projects are in the works.

In a prepared statement, One Aviation said the company is " undergoing a corporate restructuring, including a personnel reduction, to align production output with our current and anticipated orders over the coming months and to prepare for the future Project Canada development and launch.”
