Concorde Battery Receives Technical Standard Order C173 Authorization

Additional Turbine Engine Starting Batteries Added To TSO List

Concorde Battery Corporation has received Technical Standard Order C173 (TSO-C173) authorization for eight additional aircraft batteries. TSO Authorization means the battery is qualified as an airworthy component, and it can be installed in any aircraft by showing that the requirements (certification basis) of the particular aircraft model are met by the TSO battery.

This is an advantage to end users who can install an airworthy part without the need of a PMA specifying their aircraft model number. Airframe manufacturers seeking Type Certification and STC applicants will save time and certification costs by selecting a battery that has already met FAA TSO-C173, which incorporates RTCA/DO-293 requirements.

These newly authorized RG batteries are recombinant gas (RG Series) VRLA-AGM high rate turbine starting batteries and can also be used for emergency / standby applications.

Part numbers include:
RG-47 RG-49
RG-206 RG-350
RG-355 RG-500
RG-600-1 RG-600-2
