Five Receive Master Instructor Designation In September

National Accreditation Recognized By The FAA

Five instructors have earned the Master Instructor designation in the month of September.

Master Instructors LLC said in a news release that all were accredited as Masters by Master Instructors LLC, the international Master Instructor accrediting authority. All obtained their designation through the Master Instructor "Fluid Review" program online.

Professional aviation educators who earned or renewed their "Master" title during September 2019 are:

Sanford Cresap "Cres" Wise III, Master CFI, Bonaire, GA
Sanford C Wise III, a 4-time Master and SAFE member, is a retired Air Force officer as well as a mission pilot, check pilot examiner and instructor pilot for the Georgia Wing of the Civil Air Patrol. Additionally, he is an assistant chief flight instructor with the Robins Air Force Base Aero Club as well as an assistant professor of aviation at Middle Georgia State University and serves as a FAASTeam representative in the FAA's Atlanta FSDO area.
 

Cres Wise Russ Still

 
Russell Frederick "Russ" Still, Master CFI. Stoney Point Airfield, Cumming, GA
Russell F. Still, an 8-time Master and SAFE member, is also a noted aviation author and aviation educator. Russ is the president of Atlanta Flight Inc at Gwinnett County Airport (LZU) where he specializes in primary and instrument instruction as well as ground training development and instruction. He also serves with the Georgia Wing of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) primarily as an instructor pilot.
 
David "Dave" Pepitone, Master Aviation Educator, Polvadera, NM
David Pepitone, a 2-time Master and SAFE member, is a long time flight instructor, pilot, and aviation educator. Dave is now also a glider instructor and check pilot with the New Mexico Wing of the Civil Air Patrol Additionally, he is a recent recipient of the FAA's coveted Wright Brothers Master Pilot award.
 

Dave Pepitone Matt D'Angelo

 
Matthew Robert "Matt" D'Angelo, Master CFI, Spring Lake Heights, NJ
Matthew R. D'Angelo, a 3-time Master and SAFE member, is an FAA-certificated aviation educator and a Part 141 chief flSun 'n Funight instructor with Monmouth Area Flying Club at Lakewood Airport (N12). Additionally, he serves as a first officer/instructor pilot (IP) with Piedmont Airlines in Salisbury, Maryland and is a FAASTeam representative in the Teterboro FSDO area.

Craig Blumer

Craig Michael Blumer, Master CFI, Springfield, IL
Craig Blumer, a 2-time Master and SAFE member, recently earned his Master CFI accreditation through the Master Instructor's MICEP program. In addition to instructing in single engine and multiengine aircraft as well as classrooms and gliders, Craig served as an instructor and pilot for "Snoopy One," the MetLife Blimp. He is currently working as an Air Traffic Controller.

Many of the most recent National Flight Instructors of the Year or National FAASTeam Representatives of the Year were Master CFIs. In addition, the FAA has approved the accreditation as an alternate means for CFIs to renew their flight instructor certificates.
