Arrest Made In Lone Tree Drone Equipment Theft Case

Louisiana Man Charged With Robbing DJI Retailer In Colorado

An arrest has been made in the theft of about $2,500 in drone equipment from a store in Lone Tree, Colorado.

The Denver Post reports that 40-year-old Daniel L. Lang is being held in the Douglas County (CO) jail accused of felony theft, according to a news release from the Lone Tree Police Department.

The theft happened early Sunday afternoon at DJI Colorado. The store captured video of the suspect on a surveillance camera, and when the police were called on an unrelated matter to an area hotel, they were able to identify Lang using the hotel's video surveillance as well as the footage recorded by the store.

Lang was actually staying at a different hotel, and he was taken into custody about 1:30 am Monday.

Lang is accused of taking two cameras and a drone battery from the store.
