Industry-Developed Training Courses For Light Sport Repairman

If We Fly 'Em, Someone Has To Fix 'Em

By ANN Correspondent John Ballantyne

The FAA Light Sport Aviation Branch is continuing to "switch on" the elements of Light Sport Aircraft and Sport Pilot at a remarkable pace. Latest information from the Light Sport Branch is that they have begun to review for acceptance industry-developed training courses for light sport repairman.

This refers to application from individuals and organizations who wish to conduct training courses for Light Sport Repairman at the Inspection and/or Maintenance Rating levels. These industry-developed training courses are to be evaluated by FAA for official acceptance because FAA does not intend to offer the classes itself.

Individuals and/or organizations interested in submitting course materials should read and comply with FAA Order 8000.84, Procedures to Accept Industry-Developed Training For Light Sport Repairman.
