Tecnam Reveals The Astore At AERO 2013

Bills Airplane As A 'Next Generation LSA'

As part of its 65th anniversary celebration, Tecnam on Thursday made its worldwide premier reveal of the Tecnam Astore next-generation Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) at AERO 2013 Friedrichshafen, Germany. The Tecnam Astore is an all new two seat, low wing aeroplane that the company says offers "superlative performance and value."

Tecnam says the new airplane combines Italian styling, the latest technological innovations, high standards of comfort and very low purchase and operating costs. The Tecnam Astore has been developed by Tecnam’s renowned Head of Aircraft Design, Professor Luigi Pascale. In a news release posted on Facebook, the company says that for 65 years it has built its reputation through the development of innovative, stylish and affordable aeroplanes for all aspects of General Aviation flying. "What could be more fitting in this special anniversary year than for Professor Pascale to name his latest creation in honour of his first production aircraft, The P48 Astore."

The Tecnam Astore design includes innovations such as an Apple iPad mini supplied with each aircraft as standard. The Levil G Mini, using its WiFi connection, provides a full Primary Flight Display on the iPad mini using compatible third party applications such as Air Navigation Pro or similar. Additionally, the pre-installed dedicated app will compute the actual Weight and Balance, provide checklists and include all the Pilot Operating Handbook sections.

The airplane's interior is ergonomically designed, allowing for enhanced all round visibility, control and switches that can be easily reached and the use of softer materials affording a more comfortable flight, the company says.

Customers are offered a choice engines, with the Rotax 912ULS, the 912iS and the 914 engine all available. The engines will operate on both Mogas and Avgas.

“We have built our reputation at Tecnam on producing aeroplanes that offer outstanding value, beauty and efficiency” said Paolo Pascale, Tecnam’s Managing Director. “What better way to celebrate Tecnam’s 65th anniversary than by offering our customers the very best next-generation LSA, the Tecnam Astore, designed to make flying a Tecnam aeroplane a most enjoyable flying experience.”
