French Propeller Manufacturer Introduces New Prop

DUC Hélices Carbon Fiber Propeller Is Designed For The Experimental And LSA Market

French propeller company DUC Hélices introduced a new carbon fiber prop targeted at the LSA and experimental market at AirVenture 2013 in a news conference Thursday.

The FLASH propeller is a full carbon propeller, hub and blade. The company says the blades are designed to give an airplane "constant speed" performance in a fixed-pitch prop. Michaël Derderian of DUC Hélices said the innovation is based on the aerodynamic shape of the blade.

The three-blade FLASH propeller weighs 9.7lb and is available for $2,392.

DUC Hélices designs, manufactures and sells carbon fiber propellers for LSA and Experimental aircraft from 60 to 210 hp. This France-based company has more than 15 years of experience in this industry, and its average production is around 1500 propellers per year.

A full range of carbon propellers is available for each kind of aircraft; tractor and pusher 3-axis, trikes, autogyro, glider towing, and UAV.
