Florida Resident And Former Naval Aviator Seen As A Strong Business Leader
Dr. John B. “Jack” Mowell has been elected as Chairman of the Board for Aspen Avionics. Dr. Mowell, a Tallahassee, FL resident, is a diversified business executive in the fields of aviation, the life sciences and oil and gas. He became an investor in and joined the Aspen board of directors on October 11, 2012.

Prior to joining Aspen’s board, Dr. Mowell was the Executive Director and Chairman of the Board of EMS Technologies, a leading, worldwide provider of communication products that served highly-classified space, military, mobile, and airborne wireless markets. Dr. Mowell was a senior leader and driving force behind EMS from its inception until its acquisition by Honeywell in 2011.
Dr. Mowell, a former US Naval Aviator, has a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, is a graduate of the Wharton School of Commerce and Finance, and holds an Honorary Doctorate in Aviation from Rocky Mountain College.
