With a Foothold in the US, Up-and-Comer Finds Footing with Expanding Clientele
Ocala Aviation Flight Services announced a partnership with Montaer Aircraft that will see them use the MC-01 aircraft as the primary trainer in its Part 61 and Part 141 operations.
The agreement “marks a significant step in Ocala Aviation’s mission to modernize its training fleet, enhance operational efficiency, and provide unparalleled training experiences to its new students,” though price probably factors in there somewhere too. The relationship will also see Ocala take up the role of service provider for the MC-01 aircraft, providing sales, training and support to would-be Montaer customers.
“For Montaer Aircraft it is a very prudent move to incorporate such reliable institution as Ocala Aviation, with the background of decades in training experience and aviation culture into our strategic plans into the US” said Montaer Aircraft's Executive Director “Montaer will supply Ocala Aviation with volumes of parts inventory for their natural use, and obviously, they will have supplies and specialized labor to offer to our dear customers. It’s a win-win partnership.”
While the exact number of aircraft procured for Ocala’s training fleet remains a little nebulous, they hint that "it is estimated to be in the double digits." The training operator has gone on to grow fairly consistently since its establishment in 2000, now operating out of a 13,000-sq-ft training facility with a hangar almost as large. As such they're always on the lookout for training aircraft that won't break the bank. That puts Montaer in a good position as a youthful aircraft builder that's hungrier for new biz than the legacy brands. Montaer has honed its pitch towards schools too, using data from a Brazilian flight academy that rolled out a fleet of 60 brand-new MC-01 aircraft. In their service, they saw more than 4,100 flight hours pass without issue - that gives some peace of mind for those eyeballing the Rotax LSA engine with some wariness.
"Adding the Montaer aircraft to our fleet will greatly improve our student's experience. Giving the students the ability to learn in a next generation aircraft with advanced avionics will prepare them for the next step in their aviation career." said Dan Martone, Operations Manager for Ocala Aviation.
