Latest Flight Explorer Edition Features Real-Time D-ATIS Reports

Professional Edition 7.1 Also Sports Add'l Customization Options

Global flight tracking provider Flight Explorer (FE) told ANN recently of the release of Flight Explorer Professional Edition 7.1, which offers real-time Digital Automatic Terminal Information Service (D-ATIS) reports.

The D-ATIS reporting tool provides FE Professional users the ability to receive and read ATIS text messages that include information on runway and taxiway instructions, available approaches to the airport, avionics equipment, frequency outages and local weather conditions.

Representatives with Flight Explorer say FE Professional is the industry's most accurate, reliable and widely-used ASD. The system goes beyond "flight tracking" by incorporating multiple data feeds, dynamic weather overlays, situational alerts and predictive weather and air traffic tools to make FE Professional an essential flight operations management tool.

In addition to D-ATIS reports, FE Professional Edition 7.1 includes the ability to color code flights based on their on-time status, hot-clickable FAA delays, real-time airport runway cross-winds information and dynamic zoom level functionality. Version 7.1 also brings with it updates to key data sources, as well as other enhancements in response to requests from FE’s global customer base.

"With 7.1 we are continuing to integrate the key information tools necessary to really expand the decision-support capabilities of our ASD," said Flight Explorer CEO Jim Kelly. "The weather, airport status and runway configuration information now available on Flight Explorer gives our customers the ability to make more informed decisions on how to best manage their aircraft given an airport’s available capacity."

Flight Explorer provides global flight tracking, information technology and communications solutions to over 800 corporate clients, including over 80 percent of the North American major airlines and 22 of the top 30 regional airlines.
