Bombardier Global 5000 Cabin Unveiled

Company claims it is the most sophisticated cabin interior in corporate aviation

Bombardier Aerospace has unveiled a preview of a first-of-its-kind cabin aboard the new Bombardier Global 5000 super-large business jet.

The ceremonial introduction, conducted on the eve of the biennial Farnborough International Air Show, attracted a large number of media, industry officials and aircraft operators to TAG Aviation’s facility at Farnborough Aerodrome, where the first Global 5000 equipped with an interior was making its international debut.

“The Bombardier Global 5000 will raise the standard of excellence and set new expectations for super large jets in virtually every category including speed, range and, perhaps most significantly, in the cabin itself,” declared Peter Edwards, President, Bombardier Business Aircraft.

“We have listened to our customers and to operators of competing jets very closely. Their input, suggestions and constant feedback through surveys and focus groups have directed Bombardier down a path where we and our suppliers have literally pioneered a new model of sophistication for corporate jets,” added Mr. Edwards.

The Bombardier Global 5000 cabin features the state-of-the-art Airshow 21 integrated cabin electronics system from Rockwell Collins offering an advanced system architecture that supports a complete line of cabin electronics tailored to meet an operator’s unique requirements.

Airshow 21 features a redundant communications backbone, maximizing system availability while providing digital distribution of information. Bombardier Global 5000 passengers and crew will control virtually all aspects of the cabin environment including the latest in real-time business connectivity, information, entertainment and cabin management.

Another revolutionary feature unique to the Bombardier Global 5000 is a comprehensive integrated cabin system diagnostic tool to manage the various environmental systems in the cabin, galley and lavatories including temperature, lighting, water and waste systems. This will allow the flight crew to facilitate simple and rapid maintenance and troubleshooting without disrupting passengers – a first in corporate aviation.

Bombardier interior specialists, working closely with industry-leader C&D Aerospace, have also created an unprecedented level of ergonomic comfort. Among other improvements, the Bombardier Global 5000 features new seats with contoured back rests and armrests that are available, as an option, with pioneering NASA-inspired Visco Elastic material cushions.

In addition, the Bombardier Global 5000 offers improved club and conference seating arrangements combined with larger window contours, new Goodrich Hella-designed Light Emitting Diode mood lighting and the largest cabin of any aircraft in its class.

The Bombardier Global 5000 cabin features a total usuable cabin volume of 1,882 cubic feet (53.29 cu. m), from the start of the forward lavatory to the end of the pressurized compartment.
