Gobosh Introduces Sub-$100K, Dynon-Equipped 700X

Added Purchase Incentives Included On First Six Orders

It's no secret a number of Aero-News staffers are fans of the Gobosh 700S light sport aircraft; after all, one of our own flew a Gobosh to earn his sport pilot license last year. In his time at the controls of N702GB, the all-metal 700S impressed ANN Managing Editor Rob Finfrock as a impressively sturdy, very well-equipped, and honest-flying airplane... sentiments echoed by Gobosh customers, as well.

If the 700S has a drawback in today's marketplace, however, it would (arguably) be its avionics. While the 700S comes standard with a full "six-pack" panel of steam gauges, that offer a wealth of information not available in some of its competitors... for some pilots, only a glass panel will do.

Responding to customers' requests, on Thursday at the US Sport Aviation Expo in Sebring, FL, Gobosh unveiled a Dynon glass panel-equipped version of the 700... and at a base price less than $100,000, to boot.

At $99,990, the Gobosh 700X Sport is almost $10,000 less than the current Gobosh 700S Sport with conventional instruments. The entry-level plane includes a single Dynon D180 EFIS/EMS display (below) and a Garmin GPS196.

"The 700S was introduced with conventional instrumentation at AirVenture 2007," said Tim Baldwin, president of Gobosh Aviation. "Since then, a number of sport pilots and flight schools who prefer a rugged all-metal aircraft have asked about offering a Gobosh 700 with an electronic primary flight display. Once again, Gobosh responded to the desires of the market and developed the new 700X."

Even with an introductory price tag under $100,000 USD, the 700X Sport is still a well-equipped aircraft, with the premium features that consumers have grown to expect in the Gobosh line of "luxury sport aircraft." The 700X sports a sleek and robust, all-metal airframe and undercarriage with automotive-quality high-gloss paint, rakish winglets, two-tone leather seats, and a completely finished interior with no raw panels exposed.

"Working closely with consumers and manufacturers to further enhance the products and the ownership experience is exactly what sets Gobosh apart in a crowded field of sport aircraft, and the 700X is a result of that commitment," added Baldwin.

Uplevel 700X models -- offered as Elite and Elite Plus models, in similar fashion to the 700S -- boast two-tone exterior paint schemes, upgraded Garmin GPS units, dual Dynon panels (layout shown in sketch below), Bose headsets and more.

A glass panel-equipped aircraft for less than $100K is a rarity in the LSA marketplace... but Gobosh is going even further to attract buyers. Recognizing current economic conditions may give customers pause in purchasing a new aircraft, the company is offering a Gobosh Stimulus Package to help make the 700X introduction even more attractive.

The first six consumers who secure an order with a $25,000 deposit can either take $5,000 off the base price, or apply the funds to optional equipment or toward an Elite or Elite Plus upgrade. Additionally, people interested in forming a private partnership to purchase a Gobosh 700 or 800 series aircraft can join The Aircraft Partnership Association for free, and search for other pilots to share ownership costs for a Gobosh.

"We hope by continuing to listen to customers, developing products they want to purchase and by leveraging key resources like Gobosh Finance and Gobosh Insurance, that Gobosh can help stimulate the market at the point of entry," said Dave Graham, vice president of Gobosh Aviation. "There isn't a finer aircraft on the market for under $100,000 and there will likely never be a better time to buy than right now."

Gobosh expects to deliver the first 700X aircraft in May 2009.
