FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS NEW ORLEANS, LA. EFFECTIVE 0509122100Z (09/12 1600L) UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. PURSUANT TO 14 CFR SECTION 91.137(A)(1) TEMPORARY FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS ARE IN EFFECT WITHIN AN AREA BOUNDED BY: 300838N/0900748W THE RESERVE (RQR) VOR/DME 080 DEGREE RADIAL AT 24.0 NAUTICAL MILES TO 301017N/0895411W THE RESERVE (RQR) VOR/DME 080 DEGREE RADIAL AT 36.0 NAUTICAL MILES TO 295406N/0895324W THE RESERVE (RQR) VOR/DME 105 DEGREE RADIAL AT 38.0 NAUTICAL MILES TO 295259N/0900655W THE RESERVE (RQR) VOR/DME 114 DEGREE RADIAL AT 27.5 NAUTICAL MILES BACK TO ORIGINAL POINT AT AND BELOW 5000 FEET MSL. ALL AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS ARE PROHIBITED IN THE DESIGNATED AIRSPACE UNLESS FLIGHTS MEET AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS TO PROTECT PERSONS AND PROPERTY ON THE SURFACE OR IN THE AIR FROM HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH THE EFFECTS OF THE HURRICANE, CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE LOSSES, AND RELIEF OPERATIONS: (A) AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS ARE LIFEGUARD/MEDICAL, SEARCH AND RESCUE, LAW ENFORCEMENT, OR OTHER FLIGHTS IN DIRECT SUPPORT OF FEMA HURRICANE KATRINA RELIEF EFFORTS; (B) AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS ARE DOD FLIGHTS IN SUPPORT OF JOINT TASK FORCE KATRINA; (C) AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS ARE AUTHORIZED BY ATC AND ARE CONDUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH AN ATC APPROVED IFR FLIGHT PLAN. END PART 1 OF 2

FOR FLIGHT SAFETY, ALL AIRCRAFT OPERATING WITHIN THIS TFR MUST CONTACT NEW ORLEANS TRACON PRIOR TO ENTERING THE NEW ORLEANS CLASS B AIRSPACE. ALL AIRCRAFT OPERATING OUTSIDE OF THE CLASS B AIRSPACE BUT WITHIN THE TFR MUST CALL E-3/P-3 AIRCRAFT, CALLSIGN OMAHA 44 ON FREQ VHF 118.7/133.55 UHF 282.425. ALL AIRCRAFT OPERATING WITHIN THIS TFR MUST REMAIN AT LEAST 500 FEET ABOVE OR 1500 FEET LATERALLY FROM ALL DISASTER RELIEF AIRCRAFT AND AT LEAST 500 FEET ABOVE GROUND LEVEL EXCEPT FOR TAKEOFF AND LANDING UNLESS AUTHORIZED BY ATC. NEW ORLEANS APPROACH AND NEW ORLEANS TOWER ARE FULLY OPERATIONAL, THEREFORE, ALL AIRCRAFT MUST CONTACT NEW ORLEANS APPROACH ON 133.15 (NORTH OF RWY 10/28) OR 123.85 (SOUTH OF RWY 10/28). ALL FIXED WING AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS LANDING AT MSY MUST CONTACT THE AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM COMMAND CENTER FOR A SLOT RESERVATION AT 703-904-4452. THE FAA COORDINATION FACILITY IS DE RIDDER AFSS 337-460-2510 (PRIMARY) OR 337-460-2533 (BACKUP). FAA RECOMMENDS THAT AIRCRAFT OPERATORS CHECK NOTAMS FREQUENTLY FOR POSSIBLE CHANGES TO THIS TFR PRIOR TO OPERATIONS WITHIN THIS AREA. END PART 2 OF 2
