AVEO Engineering Lights Up & Down Airplane Wings

Aveo Engineering’s Conforma Lighting for Cessna, Mooney, and VANS Aircraft

Aveo Engineering, a privately held company trading under the name Southwest LLC prides itself on providing a product whose components are “not made in China with suspect materials, components, and quality”.

CEO, US Navy veteran-owner and Mechanical Engineer Christian Nielsen states that “design is everything” and , according to their website welcomes direct communication via the introductory statement “unlike most of our competitors, you can always drop a line directly to me, the owner” and provides a button to send a message!

During OSH22, Rick with Aveo Engineering shared some details about “Aveo Conforma” their winglets/wingtips conformal lighting solution.  Initially designed and developed for experimental aircraft, their landing, taxi, strobe, and wingtip modules were initially developed for the VANS RV10, followed by other models, and then certified aircraft like the Mooney, early model Cessna 150/172, the Cessna Skylane, and Cessna and Cardinal. Presently in their crosshairs is the Grumman AA-5 series! Aveo Engineering has positioned their ZipTips Premiere Wingip as an all-encompassing lighting solution for the VANS (RV4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 14, and others) that not only provides navigation, strobe, integrated landing, and taxi/wigwag but also rear-position strobe in the trailing edge!

Rick also stated that “logo” lighting to the rear of the aircraft is also available via a backlight, and that under-wing “downlight” module will illuminate the area under the aircraft, and that the mod-kit comes with a 30-page guide that outlines what is required to install and demonstrate compliance. In it, you will find the operating specifications, parts and description in bill of material/fixture format for ease of use. It’s basically what the technician/installer will follow, and that information is freely available on the internet for pilot/enthusiast/technician to review.
