Esterline Simulation Visual Systems Will Supply Treality TD-Series Display For M345 Military Trainer
Esterline Simulation Visual Systems, a new business of Esterline Corporation, has been awarded a contract to supply its new Trealty TD-Series transportable dome display system to Finmeccanica-Alenia Aermacchi for the new M-345 military trainer aircraft. The M-345 dome display will be used for marketing and training purposes by Finmeccanica-Alenia Aermacchi and, potentially, by customer air forces of the new jet.
The Trealty TD-Series is the first deployable display system using a patented roll-up, seamless spherical screen. The spherical screen rolls up into a smaller diameter for easy handling and shipment, but then un-rolls into its design diameter at the installation site. The seamless spherical screen and support structures fit through any standard door so the display can be set up virtually anywhere. The entire display system can be fully assembled and operational in just a few hours due to its “snap together” magnetic connections and user-friendly design. The TD-Series is available in a variety of configurations with different fields of view and resolution that can all fit and operate into a standard ISO container.
Frank Timmermans, vice president, Esterline Simulation Visual Systems, said:
“The selection of our innovative Trealty TD-Series display system for the Finmeccanica-Alenia Aermacchi M-345 Ground Demonstration Device is fantastic news. This new display system is easy to set up and tear down as well as simple to align given its scalable autoalignment – important benefits for our esteemed customer at airshows and exhibitions.”
Peter De Meerleer, director strategic marketing and R&D, Esterline Simulation Visual Systems, added: “Mobility, cost effectiveness and high performance, these are the key features of our Trealty TD-Series of transportable dome displays for the simulation and training market. Our systems are designed for fast deployment with an absolute minimum of adjustment and to fit and operate in a standard ISO container.”
Esterline Simulation Visual Systems announced the launch of its new Trealty brand of products at ITEC 2015. Formerly the Training & Simulation products business of Belgium-based Barco N.V., which Esterline acquired earlier this year, the new Trealty product brand is synonymous with the design, development, manufacture and world-wide support of market leading, high-performance visual systems for military and commercial flight simulation and training.
