WestJet Celebrates International Women's Day

All Female Flight And Ground Crews Mark The Day

To mark International Women's Day, WestJet on Friday operated flights 2250 and 2251 with all-female flight and ground crews in recognition of its female workforce and women in aviation.

"We are proud to share that approximately 56 per cent of our workforce is female," said Mark Porter, WestJet's Executive Vice-President, People and Culture. "The strength of female talent represented across all departments at WestJet is a great competitive advantage to our business and talent strategy. WestJet continues to focus on hiring and developing talented female leaders, promoting careers for women in aviation and providing mentorship opportunities to ensure gender equality is achieved at all levels."

WestJet is also celebrating women across its workforce on International Women's Day with a video that showcases 10 inspiring 'Women of WestJet' in roles across the airline.

Women represent seven percent of WestJet's pilot workforce against the international average of approximately four percent.
