Air Canada, Unifor Local 2002 Reach A New Collective Agreement

Pact Covers 4,100 Customer Service Representatives

Air Canada and Unifor Local 2002 have reached an agreement on the renewal of their collective agreement for a five-year period.

The agreement was reached with assistance from the Labour Program's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS). The FMCS provides dispute resolution and dispute prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code.

The Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, congratulated Air Canada and Unifor Local 2002 getting the contract finalized. "I am pleased that Air Canada and Unifor Local 2002 have reached an agreement. I applaud the parties for their commitment to reaching a settlement; the best solution is always the one that the parties reach themselves," Leitch said.

The collective agreement covering 4,100 customer service agents working at Air Canada expired on February 28, 2015.
