2009 U.S. Parachute Association National Skydiving
Championships Are October 12-25
America's ultimate adrenaline sport will command the skies over
Texas during the 2009 United States Parachute Association (USPA)
National Skydiving Championships on October 12-25 at Skydive
Spaceland outside of Houston.
Over 500 of the country's finest, fastest, most fearless
skydivers will flock to the Lone Star State to push their aerial
skills to the limit and compete for gold, silver and bronze medals
in six spectacular skydiving disciplines: Formation Skydiving,
Artistic Events (which include radical Freeflying and Freestyle),
Canopy Piloting (popularly known as "Swooping"), Freefall Style and
Accuracy Landing (the "Classics"), Canopy Formation and Vertical
Formation Skydiving.
Skydive Spaceland, located on a modern 130-acre airpark in
Rosharon, Texas just 30 minutes south of Houston, will host USPA's
National Skydiving Championships - considered one of the largest
annual adrenaline-pumping displays of parachuting proficiency in
the country.
The championships are free and open to the public from sunrise
to sunset each day. Sports fans can relax on bleachers to catch all
the action happening high above the drop zone, as well as in the
landing area where hundreds of skydivers will swoop swiftly along
the ground.

Spectators are invited to hang with America's star skydivers,
feel the rush of competition firsthand and discover drop zone
culture at its coolest as the pros practice choreographed jumps
during their ground training.
In addition to public viewing areas, there will also be displays
of aircraft and skydiving gear, a kids play area, barbecue stand
and various other vendors.
Select winners (except canopy pilots) will represent the United
States at world skydiving championships next summer in Russia and
Montenegro.
