Delta Flight Attendant Goes The Extra Mile For Deaf Teenager

Young Woman Traveling Alone Gets Just The Right Amount Of Extra Attention

A Delta Airlines flight attendant gave just the right amount of extra effort for a 16-year-old deaf passenger who was traveling alone for only the second time.

Inc reports that Ashley Ober had boarded a Delta flight from Baltimore to New York's JFK airport about a week ago. Her mother, Lynn Ober, told the magazine that Ashley had wanted to be independent on this trip to the Rochester Institute of Technology Technical Institute for the Deaf's Exploring Your Future program.

After she boarded the flight and found her seat, she got a handwritten note from a flight attendant which read:

"Hi, Good Morning Ashley.

"My name is Janna and I will be your Flight Attendant on today's flight to JFK. There are two buttons above your head. A yellow one that controls the reading light and a big gray one with a person on it that you can use to call me if you need anything.

"In the case of emergency, the nearest exit is behind you. Those are our over-wing exits.

"Please don't hesitate to ask if you need any assistance. Again, my name is Janna and welcome aboard our CRJ 200 aircraft."

Ashley took a picture of the note and sent it to her mom, and by all indications had a pleasant and uneventful trip to New York City.

Good customer service is good customer service ... no matter what you do.
