Still No Sign Of Missing Aero Commander In Alaska

Plane Disappeared One Week Ago

The search continues in Alaska for an Aero Commander twin-turboprop missing since July 28.

As Aero-News reported earlier this week, the plane disappeared on a training flight near Anchorage. On board were three men, described as experienced pilots... two of them being checked out in type.

Now... at least six Civil Air Patrol planes as well as crews in boats and still more searchers on foot and four-wheeler are going back to where they've been before. They're looking again around Moose Point and Point Possession, hoping to find some evidence of the plane and its occupants in places where they've already looked once.

"They are tightening up a few of the areas, relooking and relooking," said Mike Haller, a spokesman for the Rescue Coordination Center in Anchorage.

The Associated Press reports some of the men's families are also helping in the search.

Even after a week... Haller says this is still a rescue mission, and that there's still hope.
