Sub-Kits Now Available
Belite has made changes to its UltraCub cabin design, making it quicker and easier to build and also less expensive. The side and bottom panels which form the major outline of the cabin are now CNC cut from single pieces of aluminum. This makes it even easier for the builder to produce a square and true cabin, and also reduces parts and fabrication time, while increasing structural integrity of the design.
"We've made an improvement to our UltraCub kit in order to make it easier to build the cabin," said James Wiebe, CEO of Belite. "We've already built several cabins with this new process; it saves us time to fabricate and assemble parts, and it saves the builder time and money as well," Wiebe continued.
In order to allow builders to work on their project in cost efficient stages, Belite now also offers the UltraCub in 3 sub-kits. The improved cabin and rear fuselage kit is available for $2200; the wing and tail feather kit is $2200, and the control and completion kit is set at $2200. The new price of the complete Belite UltraCub kit is now set at $5995. All prices FOB Wichita, Kansas.
The UltraCub is Belite’s most popular FAR Part 103/Experimental aircraft, with 40 aircraft in the air or being built. The Belite UltraCub offers an aluminum ultralight aircraft manufactured in Kit and Ready to Fly models. It is available with variations of engines, landing gear, assembly materials and instrumentation. With the addition of the turtledeck, all configurations evoke the classic look of a Piper J3Cub, hence the name, UltraCub. The UltraCub weighs 254 lbs or less with a Polini Thor 250 engine.
