iFly GPS Releases Version 7.5 Software Update

New Features Include Portrait Mode, Instruments, Expanded ADS-B Compatibility

Adventure Pilot has announced the release its Version 7.5 Software Update. Enhancements include Portrait Mode, Interactive Instrument Mode, WAC Charts and more. This update will begin shipping immediately and is available for existing iFly 700 and iFly 720 owners.

The Version 7.5 Software Update further extends the capability of the iFly GPS with Portrait Mode, Instruments Panel, WAC charts and many other new features. The addition of Portrait Mode will allow the iFly GPS to be rotated for vertical mounting and improved reference of Approach Plates. Portrait Mode also provides more flexibility to mount the iFly GPS in various applications and aircraft installations. A panel dock kit supporting Landscape or Portrait installation is now available on the iFly GPS store.

A new Interactive Instrument Panel screen provides pilots a visually intuitive way of navigating with the iFly GPS. Customizable displays and the flexibility of navigational data, flight information, and an active attitude, terrain and collision alert system will give pilots an unmatched level of confidence. New tools include an HSI, Dedicated Instruments for Plates, an optional AHRS driven Artificial Horizon and more.

Version 7.5 adds more compatibility with ADS-B devices such as iLevil, Clarity and others, giving pilots more flexibility for in-Flight Weather options. Adventure Pilot aims to integrate with new ADS-B devices as they are introduced to the market. “A broad compatibility with developing devices like ADS-B receivers only affirms our commitment to the pilot community to provide the best product, value and service available”, says Shane Woodson, Adventure Pilot’s VP of Business Development.

Pilots flying in regions of Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean will gain improved chart coverage with the addition of WAC charts. Adventure Pilot owner Walter Boyd states, “The addition of WAC charts on the iFly GPS is only the first step towards our goal of distributing the iFly GPS worldwide and becoming the leader in portable aviation GPS devices.”
