Bivy Stick Now Under Artex Brand

Bluetooth Iridium Satellite Device Still Made in America

Bivy has announced that the manufacture of its Stick, a satellite messenger device, has moved to ACR Electronics.

Bivy's Salt Lake City, Utah facility has not been able to keep up with consistent demand for the tiny satcom safety device, so they found a solid supplier in Fort Lauderdale, Florida's ACR in order to ramp up production to address demand. Bivy was careful to select a domestic operation for the Stick, owing to its position as a vital link in the safety chain.

Bivy Stick "turns every cell phone into a satellite communication device," tapping into the Iridium satellite network to grant a comprehensive feature set that allows 2-way text messaging, SOS, location sharing, one-touch check-in, and detailed weather reports using the same consumer devices already in use by pilots around the world. Unlike similar Iridium-compatible devices, Bivy provides Stick users with a dedicated phone number and email address, allowing for a direct point of contact for contact anywhere, or any time.

“While outsourcing manufacturing to other parts of the world in order to drive costs down is great for some products, at ACR we believe in quality because our products are designed to save lives,” said Mikele D’Arcangelo, ACR’s VP of Global Marketing and Product Management. “Our in-house production capabilities allow us to have quality assurance steps in place throughout the entire build process to ensure that our satellite communication devices are the best quality available.”
