Acknowledges Challenges In Face Of Current "Economic
Headwinds"
Cirrus Aircraft announced Tuesday
that Jon Dauplaise has been appointed Vice President of Domestic
Sales. Dauplaise will be responsible for the strategy and
performance of the Cirrus Aircraft North American direct sales
team, and the expansion of Cirrus sales in the United States and
Canada.
Cirrus President and CEO Brent Wouters noted the importance of
naming Dauplaise to the new role at such a significant time.
"Jon's in-depth sales experience and his broad knowledge of the
Cirrus product line have him ideally suited for this key position
in our organization," he said. Jon will lead us domestically in
growing our market share in the incumbent space; through
incremental efforts in the non-pilot segment, and through offering
new Cirrus products and services in the nascent small business and
regional traveler market space."
"It's a privilege to take on this new challenge at Cirrus
Aircraft," Dauplaise said. "I look forward to not only maintaining
our position as a market leader, but to expanding into new segments
that GA piston aircraft have not traditionally addressed. Even in
the face of current economic headwinds, Cirrus is very well
positioned to grow and I am optimistic about our prospects for the
remainder of the year and beyond."
Dauplaise joined Cirrus in December 2001, holding roles as
Corporate Flight Operations Manager, Regional Sales
Manager-Northern Plains & Alaska, and most recently, Domestic
Sales Director. Dauplaise also led the development, startup and
substantial annual growth of the Cirrus Certified program.
Prior to joining Cirrus, Dauplaise served 20 years in the Army
and Army Reserve as an AH-64 Apache Helicopter Instructor
Pilot/Aviation Officer. He is a Commercial/Instrument rated pilot,
Helicopter pilot, and Certified Flight Instructor.
Dauplaise holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and
Criminology from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. It was in
college that he got his formal initiation into sales... by selling
life and personal insurance while still a student, Cirrus
notes.
