FAA Issues SAIB For M7 Aerospace Airplanes

Cracked Engine Power Lever Cable Support Bracket Leads To Action

The FAA has issued an SAIB related to cracked engine power lever cable support brackets discovered on four airplanes.

The SAIB is directed to owners/operators of M7 Aerospace LLC Models SA226-T/-T(B)/-AT/-TC, SA227-TT/-AT/-AC/-BC, and SA227-CC/-DC airplanes (under Type Certificate Data Sheets A5SW, A8SW and A18SW). Specifically, this SAIB provides inspection procedures and on-condition maintenance actions for the engine power lever control cable support bracket in the cockpit pedestal for the affected airplanes.

M7 Aerospace LLC recently issued SA26/SA226/SA227 series Service Letters (SL) 226-SL-052 for all SA226 series airplanes, SL 227-SL-067 for all SA227 series airplanes, and SL CC7-SL-060 for all Commuter Category SA227-CC/DC series airplanes. These SLs were issued after an operator reported finding the engine power lever control cable support bracket, part number 26-21505, cracked on four airplanes. This allowed the engine power lever to hit the upper quadrant on one airplane and caused damage to the control cable sheath on another airplane. The SLs provide owners and operators with instructions for inspecting the engine power lever control cable support bracket for cracks and for replacing any brackets found cracked.

The FAA recommends inspecting and replacing (when required) the engine power lever control cable support bracket in M7 Aerospace LLC SA226 and SA227 (specific models referenced above) airplanes using the procedures in the above-referenced service letters, as applicable.
