Getting Started: ‘Let Bob Fly’ Intro Video Goes Public

The Start Of One of ANN’s Biggest Projects, EVER, Is Inspiring and Thought-Provoking

I alone can't change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.                         Mother Teresa

A Personal Note From Jim Campbell: Before I get into all following verbiage, let me answer the primary personal question I've gotten since we started leaking details of the 'Let Bob Fly' project a few days ago... namely, with all that we have on our plate, why would we take on something THIS mammoth, this important, and this difficult?

There are three answers to all of this...

"Because I want the world to see that pilots deserve all the rights accorded to ANY citizen, and because I want the world to see how one of the best of us fights an incredible injustice with dignity and courage... and finally, because Bob asked me to do so... and frankly, that alone is enough for me." -- Jim Campbell, ANN CEO/E-I-C/Friend Of Bob

All journeys start with a single step… or a takeoff roll. And the long road to the eventual completion of the ‘Let Bob Fly' Documentary program is now underway.

Jim Campbell and the staff of the Aero-News Network are pleased to debut an introductory video detailing the arduous days ahead as they seek to build the foundation for the Documentary that Bob Hoover, himself, asked for.

'Let Bob Fly!' is the working title for an aggressive and somewhat controversial new documentary. Some 20 years ago, one of the greatest living aviators was grounded by two FAA inspectors based on hearsay, innuendo and unsupported conjecture. The resulting fight cost Hoover three years of his life, untold amounts of money and embarrassed the American aviation community to the core At events like Lakeland, ICAS, Oshkosh and the AOPA Conventions; people gathered, protested, made themselves heard and made it abundantly clear that the FAA had gone too far -- and that support for Hoover was pretty much an industry mandate.

Never before had we seen aviation behave so united over a single purpose… and never since have we been able to recapture that unanimity of purpose, thought, and spirit.

Worse, while Bob won the battle for his right to fly, we've lost the war... in that every Airman and aviation professional is still subject to the unconstitutional, erratic, subjective judgment of the FAA. Because of that, and in an effort to rekindle the aviation community's support and interest in making changes for our futures, we introduce 'Let Bob Fly!'

Bob Hoover asked Aero-News Network's Jim Campbell to document his ordeal with the FAA in the 1999 book "Air of Injustice", and now Bob is asking Jim to produce a game-changing documentary (approx. 90") about his medical ordeal in order to spread the word of the fixes needed to his beloved aviation community.
What we currently envision is a long-form documentary, along with other efforts. We will address what happened, as a historical narrative, what went wrong via expert analysis, and what needs to be done to start the aviation world onto a road to better times and conditions in which this industry might set itself right once again.

In the coming days, ANN and the ‘Let Bob Fly’ production team will start detailing how each of YOU might get involved… in helping us build awareness, bring together a community, start compiling resources, assisting with research and background, and making a serious/collective contribution to rebuilding the future of the AeroVerse.

We’re particularly interested in getting a start on our ‘Friends of Bob’ list – energetic, connected, empowered, engaged aero-folks who are willing to volunteer, work hard, dig deep and help us make a serious effort to make sure this production becomes a pivotal rallying point for aviation’s future. If that sounds like something that might interest you… let us know and we’ll be in touch ASAP.

And before we leave you... would you ALL please take a few minutes and help us promote a of our social media efforts in order to help build the immense buzz we need to see this project through...

Thanks!
