New Data Service Offers Internet-Delivered Aviation Weather
Data
A new subscription-based aviation weather data service for
preflight weather analysis has been introduced by Baron Services.
Supplying graphical weather information over virtually any Internet
connection, QuikLink provides weather coverage across the
continental United States and southern Canada with pricing tiers
starting at just $14.99 per month. The perfect complement to an XM
WX Satellite Weather subscription, Baron QuikLink is being offered
at 50% off the monthly subscription prices to current XM Weather
subscribers.
Baron says QuickLink provides timely and accurate aviation
weather data in a comprehensive suite of meteorologist-tested
weather information including high-resolution NEXRAD Radar,
Lightning, Storm Tracking, METARs/TAFs, Winds Aloft, Icing and
more. With flexible and affordable subscription options, Baron
QuikLink enables pilots to view weather data by altitude, as well
as to overlay multiple data products simultaneously.
"We see Baron QuikLink as the perfect pre-flight planning
weather tool," said Bob Baron, president and CEO of Baron Services.
"Pilots wanted an accurate weather system that would be convenient,
flexible and affordable - with Baron QuikLink, we are bringing
pilots all three."
Enabling pilots to choose the service plan that most suites
their needs, Baron QuikLink offers the following three service
plans: Wings ($14.99 per month), Wings Plus ($24.99 per month) and
Wings Elite ($49.99 per month).
The aviation data suite is accessible through Baron WxWorx
software, a PC-based program which provides a point-and-click
interface and GPS compatibility (requires aviation or NMEA-standard
GPS device). Available immediately, Baron WxWorx software is free
and can be downloaded from the Baron QuikLink web site.
Compatible with most Windows PCs, Baron WxWorx software displays
QuikLink's high-resolution data over a detailed map with the
ability to pan and zoom down within the span of a mile.
