Strategic Partnership Announced Between Becker Avionics, Axnes Aviation

Companies Expanding Dealership Agreement For Wireless Intercom System

During their participation at the Dubai Airshow this week, Becker Avionics International and Axnes Aviation AS, announced the expansion of their dealership agreement for sales, marketing, and product support for the Axnes produced "Polycon" Wireless Intercom System. This new dealership arrangement includes the geographical extension of their partnership beyond the Americas to include other regions of the world. Resultantly, Becker and Axnes will focus on strategic cooperation between their two marketing departments to exploit joint sales efforts globally.

The Polycon wireless intercom system (pictured in Axnes image) is a well-established product that was developed in close cooperation with professional Search and Rescue (SAR) teams. This one-of-a-kind communication system fully integrates the external operating crew into an aircraft intercom system and provides increased situational awareness and constant un-interrupted communication between crewmembers, which is critical to mission execution. The Polycon system has become standard equipment in SAR helicopters produced by several helicopter manufacturers. To date, over 700 Polycon systems have been delivered worldwide.

Features include:

  • Wireless Intercom Extension for all types of aircraft
  • Waterproof design
  • Extended Long Range
  • Effective Noise Canceling technology
  • Hands Free operation
  • Compact Base Station & hand-held Transceivers

The Polycon system provides semi-duplex communication, on 16 optional channels (409 - 419 MHz, UHF). Additionally, the system provides two operational modes, PTT operation or 'No Interrupt' Voice X-mission (NIVOX) activation and allows for transmit output power adjustment up to 0.5 watts.

Unlike most systems offering just "Pre-flight ground checks", the Polycon system is used, additionally, in a variety of applications, such as:

  • Mechanics working with running engines
  • On / Offloading of personnel
  • Ground personnel when using sling loads
  • Inter-operations with ships, boats, and ground personnel
  • Inter-operations with ground rescue teams
  • Mechanics on the ground when conducting short test flights
  • Loadmasters on larger helicopters and aircraft
  • Rotary wing hoist operations

Axnes Aviation AS specializes in developing, manufacturing and distributing advanced and highly durable wireless intercom systems for use under harsh conditions in aircraft and on other operational platforms. Becker Avionics is a privately held high-tech company that develops, manufactures and distributes the latest communications, navigation, surveillance and search & rescue equipment for airborne and ground applications.
