Bombardier has announced a range increase for its latest Global 5500 business jet ... with the aircraft now boasting a range of 5,900 nautical miles at Mach 0.85. “We are thrilled to offer this extended range to our customers,” said David Coleal, president, Bombardier Aviation. “The rigour and innovation behind our Global 5500 aircraft design and test program have allowed us to deliver enhanced performance without compromise. Not only are we standing by our commitment of certifying and bringing to the market an exceptional aircraft on time, we are exceeding expectations along the way.” The single-engine turboprop wars are beginning to heat up in earnest... and Textron had more than a few things to say about the progress of their new Denali program... now coming together among the aero-wizards in Kansas. With first flight delayed til after the first of the year, the program is nonetheless proceeding at high-speed... and on the heels of that, Textron’s new Twin-Engine Skycourier is also readying for its flight test program in 2020.
