NavData Glitch Causes Errors
Jeppesen has discovered an irregularity affecting certain
airspace boundary records contained in Jeppesen NavData, which
cause a small number of Special Use Airspace and Controlled
Airspace boundaries to be misrepresented.
Airspace Boundary Records Effected
Affected by the irregularity are Jeppesen data and databases
delivered by other vendors but derived from Jeppesen data, which
contain airspace boundary records. Primary navigation records, such
as navaids, intersections and waypoints are not affected. Also not
affected are Jeppesen charts.
A complete and searchable list of the specific boundaries
affected by these irregularities is available at a special web
site set up by the chartmaker. Users should consult
the list prior to relying on airspace boundary information for
navigation or reference.
Jeppesen's Apology
"It is
very important that our customers and our partners know we are
aggressively working to resolve the situation," Jeppesen said, in a
statement to ANN. "While it affects a limited number of people, we
want everyone to be aware of the potential discrepancy. To those
who are impacted, we truly apologize for the inconvenience this may
cause you. Our relationship with the aviation community is built
upon a foundation of trust that we will deliver the absolute
highest quality aeronautical information products on time, every
time. In this instance we have fallen short of that commitment. As
a result, please know we are taking action to correct this with a
great sense of urgency for the next possible release."
