PlaneSense Standardizes on Gogo

Moves to Install Avance L3 Internet Across Pilatus Fleet

Fractional aircraft company PlaneSense has announced the integration of Gogo Business Aviation's Avance L3 systems across its fleet of Pilatus aircraft, granting internet access from altitudes as low as 3,000 feet.

The company operates just under 40 PC-12s with 7 PC-24 jets, the majority of which already run the Avance L3 systems. Moving to standardize the handful that have yet to be upgraded allows for better, streamlined connectivity and simplified management for the company. Avance L3 provides a range of in-flight internet enhancements for passengers and pilots alike, from in-flight entertainment, email, voice and text communication, and EFB downloads.

The L3 is the broadband analogue to terrestrial internet, where the L5 is the newer, faster model with similar peak performance to 4G connections. The selection of L3 instead of the L5 is likely a smart one over time, allowing for full uniformity across the fleet and setting customer's expectations to one standard. The average performance of Avance L3 is no slouch, of course, providing speeds up to 25 Mbps and handily outdoing no small number of terrestrial home internet options.

“The Avance L3 is an important addition to the value proposition of the PlaneSense program, especially with its excellent bandwidth performance, and with functionality starting at 3,000 feet,” said George Antoniadis, CEO. “Clients in our jet program have greatly enjoyed Gogo’s L3 connectivity since 2018 and we are thrilled to now offer this benefit to our PC-12 clients." Customers should enjoy the change, as the new addition will bring in-flight moving maps to track flight progress and make sure their time in the air is more productive than the olden days of dog-earing catalogs and reading gossip magazines.

"By offering Gogo Wi-Fi on its fleet, clients are able to make their flight time more productive, and entertaining,” said Jim Zanino, vice president of customer sales for Gogo Business Aviation. “Regardless of the size or mission of an aircraft, passengers expect quality inflight Wi-Fi and the L3 delivers a great experience.”
