TKS Extends Ice Protection Approval To Columbia 300/Corvalis 350

Full Range Of Former Columbia Planes Now Covered By STC

CAV Aerospace, Inc. has received an amended STC from the FAA to retrofit its TKS ice protection system on Corvalis 300 and 350 model aircraft. To obtain the amended STC, CAV Aerospace installed the proprietary TKS system on an early model 350 and flight-tested the prototype aircraft to confirm aerodynamic integrity.

"Now the complete line of Corvalis aircraft, including Cessna's new Corvalis 400 TT, can have the proven TKS ice protection system that already flies on more than 4,000 other general aviation aircraft," said CAV Aerospace President Kevin Hawley.

"We are very pleased our system is available to new Cessna Corvalis 400 TT buyers as a factory option, and now to all existing Corvalis owners," Hawley said, noting that CAV just installed its 100th Corvalis 400 TKS ice protection system on a model 400 at the Salina Airport's Aviation Service Center in Kansas.

Including factory installations on new aircraft and aftermarket installations, 100 model 400 aircraft now fly the proprietary TKS system.

The TKS Ice Protection System flies on aircraft ranging from single-engine pistons to medium jets, providing peace of mind to their owners.
