Houston Police Secure 5-Year Maintenance Deal

MD Helicopters to Maintain, Support Drive Trains for Department's MD500E Fleet

MD Helicopters has signed a 5-year maintenance agreement with Houston Police Department, ensuring consistent performance for their 8 MD 500Es.

The deal will pay particular attention to drive train components in the police fleet, keeping them aloft with minimal fuss for department management. The Houston Police Air Support Unit provides a variety of traditional law enforcement services to local and federal agencies that includes some rare maritime functions given the geography under their jurisdiction. Their missions include "patrol flights, support for high-speed pursuits, call - for - service response, perimeter control support, homeland security site checks, security flights for the ship channel and Port of Houston, live video for major fire scenes, covert aerial surveillance, dignitary protection, photo evidence gathering, post-storm damage assessment, and SWAT officer insertion and extraction."

“MD Helicopters has a long and sustained history of delivering the proven capabilities and technically advanced helicopters modern law enforcement requires to protect its citizens while ensuring safety for its officers,” says Nick Nenadovic, vice president of aftermarket and customer support at MD Helicopters. “This long-term agreement emphasizes trust in MDHI to deliver superior service and expertise to keep Houston Police Department Air Support Unit flying their critical missions.”
