Advanced Avionics, Communications Systems For Small
Airlifter
The Brazilian Air Force successfully completed a debut flight of
its C-95 freighter-wayfarer aircraft, upgraded by Elbit Systems'
Brazilian subsidiary Aeroeletrônica (AEL). The upgraded
aircraft will be awarded a CTA type certification from the
Brazilian aviation certification authority, Centro Técnico
Aeroespacial (CTA).
Upgrading both C-95 and P-95 aircraft platforms, the program
includes integration of advanced avionics such as digital maps,
displays, advanced communication and navigation systems and
additional advanced systems, aimed at improving the aircraft's
performance and the pilot's survivability. These new, cutting edge
avionics systems are destined to meet the high standards of newly
manufactured aircraft, specifically in flight safety and mission
performance in harsh weather conditions.
In this upgrade program, as in other AEL upgrade programs, the
company accumulated additional technological know-how and advanced
manufacturing capabilities. Thanks to the support and vast
experience of its parent company, Elbit Systems, AEL is able to
further establish its expertise and capabilities in development and
manufacture for both current and future upgrade programs.
Vitor Jaime Neves, AEL Operational Vice President noted: "We are
proud of this program, which builds on Elbit Systems' vast
experience in upgrading of various aerial platforms. This flight
marks an important milestone in the program, further strengthening
our longstanding cooperation with our Brazilian customers. We
believe that additional international customers undergoing similar
upgrade programs will follow the Brazilian Air Force, and will
choose to upgrade their fleets with our advanced systems."
