Turkish Airlines To Cut Fuel Costs Using Honeywell Connected Software

Turkey's Flagship Airline Deploys Post-Flight Analysis Service To Further Reduce Fuel Consumption

Honeywell has been selected by Turkish Airlines to provide its Fuel Efficiency software, part of Honeywell's GoDirect suite of connected aircraft services, to reduce fuel use and associated costs. The software solution provides the airline with instant analytics and recommendations on an airplane's current fuel consumption and ways to save fuel.

Honeywell's software, which was acquired through the acquisition of Aviaso in 2015, includes more than 100 ready-made analysis reports and integrates with existing airline computer systems through a user-friendly data interface. Airlines can quickly deploy the solution and use existing or customized reports and dashboards to monitor and communicate progress of fuel-saving efforts. The software also rigorously monitors a variety of possible fuel-saving initiatives for each flight while providing comprehensive reports to guarantee full compliance with the European Union Emissions Trading System legislation.

"Powerful fuel-management software is key for airlines such as Turkish Airlines that are looking to take their fuel-efficiency programs to the next level," said Jason Wissink, senior sales director, Connected Aircraft, Honeywell Aerospace. "Honeywell's Fuel Efficiency software is flexible enough to integrate with many different data sources to support fast deployments and ensure airlines are well-equipped to handle future fleet growth."

"We see huge potential in using technology to monitor and measure flight operations and discover news ways to improve efficiency," said Fatih Kacmaz, senior vice president, Integrated Operations Control at Turkish Airlines. "In fact, one of our key business pillars is to use the most sophisticated technologies in daily operations."

"Turkish Airlines is committed to investing in the latest technologies in all areas of operations to improve operational efficiency," said Resat Gunduz, operational fuel manager at Turkish Airlines. "We are currently implementing the best industry practices to enhance our fuel efficiency program, and Honeywell's Fuel Efficiency software is one of them."
