AD: The Boeing Company Airplanes

AD NUMBER: 2018-06-08

PRODUCT: Certain The Boeing Company Model 757-200 series airplanes.

ACTION: Final Rule.

SUMMARY: This AD was prompted by an evaluation by the design approval holder (DAH) indicating that the side panel-to-frame attachments and frames of the aft cargo compartment are subject to widespread fatigue damage (WFD).

This AD requires an inspection of the side panel-to-frame attachments and frames to verify that certain modifications have been done, and applicable on-condition actions.

DATES: This AD is effective April 19, 2018.

COST: The FAA estimates  that this AD affects 13 airplanes of U.S. registry. The following cost estimates are provided for compliance:

  • General visual inspection: 1 work-hour × $85 per hour = $85 per aircraft.
  • Estimated Costs of On-Condition Actions: Up to 45 work-hours × $85 per hour = Up to $3,825 per aircraft for labor. Parts cost is unavailable.
