USAF Thunderbirds Honor Team Member Fatally Injured Last Year

Perform A 'Missing Man' Formation Over The Home Of The Parents Of Major Stephen 'Cajun' Del Bagno

As the USAF Thunderbirds were preparing Monday for a performance that would mark the premier of the new movie "Captain Marvel", they paid tribute to one of their own who was lost in a training accident last year.

Television station KABC reports that during a practice run for a flyover above Hollywood Boulevard as part of the movie premier celebration, the team roared over the home belonging to the parents of Major Stephen "Cajun" Del Bagno, who was fatally injured during a training flight last year. Del Bagno had worked as a consultant for the movie.

The Missing Man formation that was executed over the home of Joe and Cindy Del Bagno overwhelmed the two, according to the report. "Awesome tribute. Awesome tribute," Joe Del Bagno said.

After their son's accident the Del Bagnos established the "Cajun's Aviation Dream" foundation to assist kids who want to pursue an aviation career.
