Aero-TV: The Best Part of the Job – Craig Fuller Logs Airtime

AOPA President and C.E.O., Craig Fuller, Talks about His Own GA Travel

January 1st, 2010, marked Craig Fuller’s first year in office as the President and C.E.O. of AOPA. Only the fourth person to hold the position since AOPA’s beginning in 1939, Fuller continues to lead the largest aviation organization in the world.  With over 414,000 members, representing more than two thirds of all certified pilots in the United States, the AOPA provides a variety of services to its worldwide membership including legal representation, medical resources, safety courses and seminars, aircraft insurance, and more.

In addition to his role as AOPA President, Fuller serves as president for the International Council of Aircraft Owner and Pilot Associations having been elected to lead 66 national AOPA organizations representing more than 470,000 members worldwide.

As chairman of the Political Action Committee, Fuller has a significant responsibility ensuring that elected officials who protect general aviation receive pilot community support.  Fuller, however, is well versed with political leadership of such magnitude. Prior to his role at AOPA, he served as the assistant to President Reagan for Cabinet Affairs and chief of staff to then Vice President George H.W. Bush.

As one can imagine, then, Fuller spends a considerable time in the air traveling to meet with both membership representatives and speak on behalf of membership needs across the country.  Whether emphasizing the vital role of general aviation, or recruiting new pilots and industry leaders, AOPA’s President relies on the very transportation he dedicates his time protecting.  Join Aero-TV as we ask AOPA C.E.O. and President, Craig Fuller, how he travels to and from his many outreach missions.
